The beautiful coastal town of Eastbourne, known for its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches and iconic chalk sea cliffs. Take a stroll down the Victorian pier and three tier promenade or browse the various shops, cafes and restaurants.

A personal welcome awaits you at Haddon Hall Hotel which has been family run for more than 20 years. The hotel is enviably situated at the sea front end of Devonshire Place which is centrally located linking the promenade with the town centre. All rooms are en-suite with TV, tea/coffee facilities and a lift to all floors. The restaurant has an excellent reputation, offering a wide range of dishes. You can enjoy entertainment and dancing in the refurbished ballroom.


Fun Fact

Did you know? Eastbourne was one of the most bombed seaside towns during World War 2. Bombers would drop any bombs that they had left over Eastbourne before they made their return journey to Germany. Up to four thousand bombs were dropped on the town. The bombers would use Beachy Head as their landmark.

Excursions

Bluebell Railway - (July date only) - Enjoy a return journey through time on the scenic Bluebell Railway, one of the first preserved Heritage lines in the country and regularly seen on television and in films. The line runs between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead. Take a stroll in the gardens of Sheffield Park, the 120- acre listed garden laid out in the 18th century, with four large lakes reflecting the exquisite planting of trees and shrubs (cost included).

Tunbridge Wells - A beautiful spa town with elegant architecture, accommodating a variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.

Lewes - Surrounded by chalk cliffs, the town of Lewes is dominated by the remains of a Norman castle. Its medieval streets are home to numerous contemporary galleries, bookshops, boutiques and antique centres as well as many restaurants, cafes and pubs.

COVID-19 Information

At Plimbley Travel, we are doing everything we can to keep our customers safe, below you will  find a list of all the steps we and our partners will be taking so you can relax and enjoy your holiday with peace of mind.

COACH

  • Hand sanitiser will be provided for your use
  • You may be required to board the coach via the front and side doors depending where you are seated.
  • All of our coaches will be vigorously cleaned each day and fully sanitised with a fogging machine at the start and end of each tour. All high traffic areas and all touch points are disinfected numerous times during the day.  Some of our coaches have the benefit of the latest air purification technology.
  • Face coverings/masks will be required (If you do not have these, we can supply you with a reusable face mask for the cost of £1.50each). Please ask for details.
  • Passengers from the same household or social bubble will be allowed to sit together. Single travellers will not be expected to sit next to any other passengers
  • Your seat numbers may change so we can adhere to social distancing as much as possible.
  • You may be required to have your temperature taken with a contactless thermometer.
  • Our booking and reservation systems are fully compliant with “Track & Trace” requirements.

TAXIS

  • We are limiting the number of passengers we can take in one taxi or minibus; face coverings may be required depending on individual companies, but we would advise you to wear them for your own safety.

HOTELS

  • Due to social distancing there will be no entertainment in some hotels.
  • Swimming pools will not be open until further government guidance.
  • Bars and restaurants will be open with tables arranged to adhere to social distancing.

EXCURSIONS

  • Group numbers will be reduced at any one time to some venues where you are in enclosed spaces to allow for social distancing.
  • There might have to be changes to some excursions due to some venues not opening to full capacity. We will however try our best to update you on this as soon as possible.
