Rudesheim lies at the foot of the Niederwald Monument on the bank of the Rhine. The picturesque old town has plenty to see and do with many shops, restaurants and wine cellars. A must is a stroll down the Drosselgasse, this bustling cobbled street has food for all tastes and cakes and pastries that will make your mouth water. And a trip to Rudesheim wouldn’t be complete without trying the traditional Apple Strudel and famous Rudesheimer Kaffe.

The Hotel Rudesheimer Hof is a delightful family-run hotel. Your hosts Sissi & Wilhelm Heymach are extremely passionate about what they do and attach a great deal of importance to their guests. The hotel is just a short 7-minute walk to the Drosselgasse yet situated in a quiet area away from all the hustle and bustle. A lift services all floors where you will find the relaxed bedrooms, some with stained glass windows or colourful accent walls. There is internet access in all rooms and flat screen TV. Breakfast is buffet style and your evening meal is a waitress service.

Itinerary

Day 1: After we depart from your local area, our journey will take us to the Euro Tunnel, Folkestone, just a 35-minute crossing and we are in France. We then travel through Belgium, Holland and Germany, arriving in the Rhine town of Bingen. We cross the Rhine on the local ferry arriving in Rudesheim in time for your evening meal.

Day 2: Enjoy a day at leisure in the beautiful town of Rudesheim, renowned for its winemaking and being part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the region. You will also have the opportunity to browse the wonderful Christmas market. The town square comes alive at this time of year with many traditional and festive stalls, activities and an impressive nativity scene.

Day 3: We depart this morning to Koblenz, one of the oldest cities in Germany. Situated on both banks of the Rhine where it is joined by the Moselle. The city is home to some of the most stunning, churches, castles, palaces and historic townhouses. There are a number of museums that offer a vast selection of exhibits including art and archaeological finds. You may decide to take a ride on Germany's first tri cable car, offering you breath-taking views over the Rhine. (cable car admission not included)

Day 4: Join in the fun and laughter in the wine cellar of Adolf Stornzel, a well-known wine producer in
Rudesheim. We also take you up to the vineyards with a guided tour aboard the Winzer Express.

Day 5: We say goodbye this morning to this enchanting German town as we make our journey back towards the Midlands.
