National Botanic Gardens of Wales & Carmarthen – Set in the beautiful countryside, the garden is a fascinating blend of the modern & historic. You will find an inspiring range of themed gardens, the worlds largest single span glass house, the British Bird of Prey Centre, a Tropical Butterfly House & a National Nature Reserve, all set in a Regency landscape that provides the stage for a packed programme of events throughout the year. You will also be able to discover the town of Carmarthen; sited on the River Towey, some eight miles north of its estuary. It is a small town and claims to be one of, if not the oldest town in wales. Picton Castle & Gardens and Haverfordwest – There is always something to see and do at Pembrokeshire’s award-winning Castle & Gardens. Picton Castle consists of a 13h century Castle with a splendid Georgian wing. Guided tours span nearly 800 years of history, with inspiring family stories. Relax amid idyllic gardens, carefully planned to provide colour and interest all year round. We also make a stop in Haverfordwest; the attractive and ancient county town of Pembrokeshire. As well as being the county’s administrative centre, Haverfordwest has a great variety of shops in the town. The centre of Haverfordwest is dominated by the Western Cleddau that runs through the middle of the town and the castle that towers above it. (Apr/Jul dates only) - cost included.
Gwilli Steam Railway - Take a ride on the Gwilli Steam Railway. Your train will depart from Bronwydd Arms Station to Danycoed Halt, back down to Abergwili Junction and then returning to Bronwydd Arms, 3 miles north of Carmarthen. Named after the River Gwilli, which runs alongside the railway for 4 miles, passing through picturesque farmland and steeply wooded hillsides. (Sep/Oct dates only) - cost included.
Pembrokeshire Coast & Saundersfoot – Take a full day’s excursion travelling along the coast to Pembroke, with its intricate ribbon of weather-worn cliffs, dazzling beaches and secret coves and jewelled with rockpools. In the afternoon we visit the small seaside town of Saundersfoot. Graced with a charm and character all of its own. Excludes January date.
