East Somerset Railway – We take the journey on the coach to the lovely village of Cranmore near Shepton Mallet and take a relaxing ride on a heritage steam train. The train journey is approximately 40 minutes over a 5-mile round trip through the beautiful Mendip countryside. This is one of the very few railways, where you can visit the engine shed & workshop, as well as enjoying the small museum. If you need to refuel, pop into the Whistlestop Café serving delicious home-cooked meals, tea/coffee and snacks (cost included).
Burnham-on-Sea – Today we visit the large seaside resort of Burnham-on-Sea, positioned at the mouth of the River Parrett upon Bridgewater Bay. Famous for the nine-legged lighthouse and also, for being one of the shortest piers in the country. There is also a bustling town with a mixture of high street shops and traditional outlets.
