Day 1: Today we make our way to Harrogate, your home for the next 5 days.
Day 2: Bradford Industrial Museum & Salts Mill – Our first stop is at the Bradford Industrial Museum, where you can see permanent displays of textile machinery, steam power, engineering, printing machinery and motor vehicles. You can enjoy the splendour of Moorside House where the Mill Manager lived or visit the Millworkers terraced houses dressed to reflect three different periods. We then make our way to Salts Mill, the place for art, dining & shopping in one historic Building. Inside you can admire a large collection of works by David Hockney, be inspired by the very best in independent retail and enjoy bustling restaurants and cafes. You can also learn about the history of the Mill in the People & Process and Saltaire History Exhibitions.
Day 3: Knaresborough & Wetherby – We first make our way to the market town of Knaresborough, a warren of medieval streets & stone staircases that weave their way up and down the hill. The town is perched on the cliffs above the River Nidd & the imposing Viaduct across the Nidd Gorge offers amazing views. We continue our journey to the town of Wetherby. Wetherby is situated on the River Wharfe. Visitors will find good riverside walks & the town centre is full of interesting small shops selling a variety of goods. There are also many tea/coffee shops and restaurants.
Day 4: Today you can choose to explore Harrogate or join an optional excursion to the town of Boroughbridge. With it’s thriving high street, commanding a host of inviting Cafes, shops, pubs & restaurants. The pretty cobble Hall Square was once the home of fishermen, today you will find the Butter Market Museum, an eclectic display of local artefacts, showing the history of the townspeople.
Day 5: Today we say goodbye to Harrogate as we begin our journey home.
