Day 1: Morning departure. Sit back, relax and enjoy some beautiful scenery on the journey towards Cumbria, with a lunchtime stop en route, before continuing to the Gilsland Hall Hotel. Relax and enjoy evening entertainment with guest artists and dancing.

Day 2: A beautiful scenic drive following Hadrian’s Wall, one of the UK’s most iconic landmarks, built under the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The wall snakes 73 miles between Wallsend in the east and Bowness-on- Solway in the west. Northumberland is home to most of the remaining sections of Hadrian’s Wall, and many miles of track along unbroken parts of the wall dip and swerves over high ground, these paths often provide spectacular views over a landscape largely unchanged since the days of the Roman legions. Also, visit Hexham (market day), a market town located south of the River Tyne. There will be free time to enjoy.

Day 3: Rails, Sails & Tails! (June date only) After breakfast, we travel to Haverthwaite Station for the first of your three experiences. We take a one-way ride on the Lakeside Railway, as we make our way towards Lakeside pier. Here you will disembark the train, ready for our sailing across the beautiful Lake Windermere heading towards Bowness. Once ashore, you will visit the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ and meet Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, Tom Kitten and many more. We then make our journey back to the hotel in perfect time for your evening meal. Cost Included.

Day 4: Today we explore the northern Lake District beginning with a visit to the idyllic town of Keswick, nestled between Derwent Water and towering Skiddaw, the sixth-highest mountain in England. We depart Keswick and head to The Lakes Distillery in time for your guided tour. The Lakes practises holistic whisky making, with the whiskymaker at the helm throughout the journey through the distillery and beyond. Discover how their whiskies, gins and vodkas are made, this also includes a guided tasting of 3 spirits. Cost Included.

Day 5: Homeward bound
