Rye Market & wine tasting in Hastings - The town of Rye with its cobbled streets & narrow passages reveal architectural treasures among wonderfully preserved, medieval, Tudor & Georgian buildings, many of which are open to the public as restaurants, tearooms or pubs. Thursday is market day in Rye so be sure to grab yourself a bargain! Our next stop on today’s excursion is the Carr Taylor Vineyard where you will be given a guided tour; your guide will explain a brief history of English wine. You will get to see the winery vats and presses and learn about their various wine-making techniques and more importantly the opportunity to have a tutored tasting of some of the wines.
