The Isle of Wight is situated just off England’s South Coast, accessible by the Isle of Wight Ferry. Known as the dinosaur capital of Great Britain, The Isle of Wight is the perfect destination at any time of year.

The Sands Hotel commands a most enviable position in Sandown, directly on the esplanade just across the road from the golden sands of Sandown Beach and a short walk to Sandown town with its pier and amenities. All rooms are ensuite with tea/coffee making facilities & TV. There are also some balcony rooms on the first floor.

Freshly cooked meals are served in the restaurant and in the evening, you can relax in the lounge/bar and enjoy a variety of musicians to dance the night away. There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool, sauna & beauty therapy room.

Please note that there is no lift but half of the rooms are on the ground floor.

Newport – Visit the principal town of the Isle of Wight which is located in the centre and often referred to as its capital. The historic town, centres on two elegant squares with Georgian & Victorian architecture surrounding them, and the towns Quay just a short walk away.

Island Tour – Enjoy an island tour of the countryside, picturesque villages and stunning coastlines.

Ryde & The Isle of Wight Steam Railway – Take a ride on a vintage steam locomotive for a special journey back in time (cost included). Settle back in a beautifully restored Victorian & Edwardian carriages and enjoy a unique view of some of the island’s unspoiled countryside. Our next stop today is Ryde; as the largest town on the island, it has an array of shopping streets and great attractions. Ryde also has an award-winning beach, which at low tide opens up to be the largest stretch of golden sands on the Isle of Wight. Quarr Abbey is a popular attraction for visitors to Ryde, the abbey is a fully functioning monastery and is set within grounds well worth exploring (admission to Quarr Abbey is not included).
