Dartmoor Otters, Buckfast Butterflies & South Devon Railway – Enjoy and learn about the tropical butterflies in the specially designed habitat of which you become a part, you’ll not only see the butterflies, but feel the rain forest atmosphere that they enjoy, as you see their amazing life cycle unfold. In the otter sanctuary, there are three species of otter to see, the native British otter, the playful Asian short-clawed otters and the large North American river otters. The next part of today's excursion is on the South Devon Railway, a seven-mile former great western railway branch line built-in 1872, which runs along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes (cost included).
Teignmouth & Dawlish - Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of River Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting. Our next stop is Dawlish, a traditional seaside town, with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep. The town offers a range of amusements and is centred around The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. Just a few miles down the road is Dawlish Warren, a beautiful nature reserve with a blue flag beach.
